Event Description:
Washington community High School's Homecoming Week is October 1-6, 2012. The 2012 Homecoming theme is Arabian Nights.

Community Night will be held October 4th, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Five Points Washington. Community Night plans to entertain you with a performance by Chamber Choir, drama Club skit, a routine from the Pantherettes, speeches from the football captains, the coronation of the Homecoming King and Queen and much more. Following community night there will be a bonfire at the high school where hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

The homecoming parade will be held Friday, October 5th. The parade will step off at 2:00 p.m. from the Washington Park District on Walnut Street. It will then travel on Walnut going West towards Washington's historic square. It will then take a right on North Main Street than a left on Jefferson Street and head up to Jefferson until it ends at WCHS. Parade application and Grand Marshal nomination forms are available at www.wacohi.net. September 21 is the deadline to return all forms.

On the evening of October 5, the Varsity football game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. again Limestone.

Homecoming week concludes with the WCHS Homecoming Dance on Saturday, October 6th in the Torry Gym from 8:00-11:00 p.m.

Bicentennial History Exhibit – On display July 13th – August 24th, 2025 at Five Points Washington

Bicentennial and historical images will be exhibited by the Washington Historical Society on the Community Gallery Wall at Five Points Washington. The carefully curated photographs selected for this exhibit give a unique insight into events, people, and places from Washington’s past. The selected photographs span the last 150 years of Washington’s history and feature community events and everyday life in Washington.


StoryWalk in Washington Park

Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
