FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE What: Buffalo Wild Wings Hosts Washington Band Fundraiser When: Wednesday, August 12, 5-9 pm. Where: Buffalo Wild Wings, 833 W. Camp St, East Peoria, IL The Washington Community High School Band Boosters will stage a "takeover" of Buffalo Wild Wings in East Peoria on Wednesday, August 12. From 5 to 9 pm that night, the restaurant will donate 15% of food sales (excluding alcohol) to the Boosters, for all parties presenting a free "ticket" to their servers. Tickets can be obtained in advance at the Boosters' web site: http://wchsbands.weebly.com/ 100% of proceeds from the fundraiser will be used to support the WCHS bands. The Band Boosters provide a significant portion of the annual budget for the band program, including the purchase of new instruments, stipends for visiting conductors and clinicians, commissioning of original music, supplies, and expenses above and beyond those covered by the school. The WCHS music program won the 2015 Class A state championship. Band and vocal music students won the Illinois High School Association music sweepstakes state title for the first time in school history. The sweepstakes combines band, orchestra and vocal music scores in IHSA solo and ensemble and organizational (full bands and choirs) sectional competitions. This fall, the WCHS Marching Panthers will present "Music of the Night," featuring music from "The Phantom of the Opera."
