Join us for a playful and creative Lidded Watermelon Mug Hand-Building Class where you’ll design your own functional, summer-inspired mug from clay! In this workshop, you’ll learn hand-building techniques to shape a mug complete with a fitted lid, then add sculptural details and watermelon-inspired texture.
Your piece will be left to dry, fired, and ready for the next step—a return glazing session two weeks later, where you’ll bring your watermelon mug to life with color, finish, and personality.
No experience needed—this class is beginner-friendly and perfect for anyone who wants to make something fun, functional, and a little bit whimsical. All materials, tools, firing, and glaze time are included. Your finished mug will be ready for pickup after final firing.
StoryWalk in Washington Park
Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Be You! by Peter H. Reynolds.
