Event Description:
Brush pick-up service will begin on Monday, October 15th, weather permitting.


Residents within the City limits wishing to use this service must follow these instructions:

1. Place the brush (cut ends toward the street) between the curb and gutter and sidewalk or approximately three feet off of the edge of the roadway. Brush piles that do not have cut ends toward the street will be left for the property owner to dispose of at his/her own expense.

2. Branches, limbs, or trees greater than four inches in diameter will not be picked up.

3. Residents are reminded that the service is offered strictly for yard maintenance purposes. Any abuse of the service such as tree topping, entire hedge removal, etc. resulting in large piles of brush, branches, roots, and the like will not be permissible.

4. City crews will not enter onto private property in the performance of this service.


Location:
City crews will start on the west end of the City (Rolling Meadows) and work east.
Date/Time Information:
Brush must be at the curb by 7:00 a.m. on October 15 to assure pickup. No return trips will be made.

Bicentennial History Exhibit – On display July 13th – August 24th, 2025 at Five Points Washington

Bicentennial and historical images will be exhibited by the Washington Historical Society on the Community Gallery Wall at Five Points Washington. The carefully curated photographs selected for this exhibit give a unique insight into events, people, and places from Washington’s past. The selected photographs span the last 150 years of Washington’s history and feature community events and everyday life in Washington.


StoryWalk in Washington Park

Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
