Sunday, November 8, 2015, is the day that our community can come together to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.  Veterans Day honors ALL American veterans, both living and dead. In fact, Veterans Day is largely intended to thank LIVING veterans for dedicated and loyal service to their country. With that in mind, all veterans, and the general public, are cordially invited by Gary and Stephanie Deiters, Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, and the Washington Chamber of Commerce to attend this annual Celebration of Veterans.

Animal Rescue Giving Tree at Washington District Library – Sunnyland Branch

Help the Tazewell County Animal Shelter stock their shelves and provide newly adopted animals with the essentials they need. Beginning February 1, 2026, select ornaments with items to donate, purchase the items, and bring them back to the Sunnyland Branch by March 10th.
