Threads, Hope & Love NFP will be having their annual Invitation Only Private Christmas Event. We invite parents in the most need to come in for an evening where they can shop one-on-one with a staff member and get items for each child in their family. Last year we gave out gifts for 270 children in Tazewell and Woodford Counties and we expect a much higher number this year. It would be heartbreaking to have to turn anyone away due to lack of toys and gift cards. We serve children from newborn to 18 years old.Ages newborn to 18 years old. Families are from Tazewell and Woodford Counties only Baby toys, dolls for all ages from babies to Monster High dolls, doll sets, jewelry for all age girls, make-up sets for teens, LED flashlight sets, tool sets for teens, LEGOS for all ages, body pillows, plush animals and toys, Bluetooth speakers, headphones, skate boards, flash drives 6g and up, current DVDs, karaoke machines, AXE products, iPhone 5 and 6 cases, ride-on toys, Razor scooters, Xbox 360 games, Wii games, PS3 games, CDs, MP3 players, adult art sets for older kids, Manga books, science kits, R/C cars and planes, small drones, games, cuddly throws, super hero items, sports balls of any kind, bikes, fishing gear, or any of thousands of toys and gifts out there. We also needs tons of stocking stuffers, candy and Christmas stockings Also, gift cards are a HUGE help with the harder to pick for children. Any amount from $10 - $25 are perfect. Suggestions for the best gift cards for these children are; TARGET, WALMART, TACO BELL, MCDONALDS, PIZZA HUT, MONICALS PIZZA, FIREHOUSE PIZZA, HARDEES, KFC, SUNNYLAND CINEMAS, CARMIKE CINEMAS, AMC CINEMAS, HOT TOPIC, CLAIRES, BARNES & NOBLE, AERIE, AMAZON, FOOTLOCKER, GAME STOP,NORTHWOODS MALL, WASHINGTON CHAMBER CHECKS, GRAND PRAIRIE, THE DEB, PANDA EXPRESS, NOODLES AND COMPANY, JASON’S DELI, CO-OP RECORDS, PAYLESS SHOES….the list could go on and on. Any restaurant in the area or store that teens may find a gift for themselves. Or somewhere they may go our with friends or on a date. These are very appreciated by the teens and by the parents. Bicentennial History Exhibit – On display July 13th – August 24th, 2025 at Five Points Washington

Bicentennial and historical images will be exhibited by the Washington Historical Society on the Community Gallery Wall at Five Points Washington. The carefully curated photographs selected for this exhibit give a unique insight into events, people, and places from Washington’s past. The selected photographs span the last 150 years of Washington’s history and feature community events and everyday life in Washington.


StoryWalk in Washington Park

Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
