The eighth annual Take Pride in Washington Clean Up Day will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. The event always begins at 8:30 a.m. at Wenger Shelter in Washington Park, off Stratford Drive, with refreshments, free t-shirts, gloves and a group photo. Groups and individuals interested in participating in the Clean Up can call the Washington Chamber of Commerce at (309) 444-9921 to be added to the list of eager volunteers. If anyone is interested in assisting in the planning for the Take Pride in Washington Clean Up, feel free to join the rest of the committee on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the Chamber Office, 114 Washington Square, for a brief information meeting.

Bicentennial History Exhibit – On display July 13th – August 24th, 2025 at Five Points Washington

Bicentennial and historical images will be exhibited by the Washington Historical Society on the Community Gallery Wall at Five Points Washington. The carefully curated photographs selected for this exhibit give a unique insight into events, people, and places from Washington’s past. The selected photographs span the last 150 years of Washington’s history and feature community events and everyday life in Washington.


StoryWalk in Washington Park

Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
