Event Description:
Join the Peoria Area Civic Chorale for Sing On! Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m. at Five Points Washington. This will be Dr. Joseph D. Henry’s final concert series with the group before retirement. The repertoire includes a variety of uplifting music including Heavenly Home, a trilogy of a capella gospel tunes, standards like “Embraceable You” and “Bye Bye Blackbird,” spirituals like “Ezekiel Saw the Wheel” and “Music in the Air,” and americana songs like “Shenandoah” and “America the Beautiful.” There will also be a large variety of numbers from musicals including “Never Enough” and “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman, “The Impossible Dream” from Man of La Mancha and a medley of numbers from classics like Oklahoma, South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Carousel, My Fair Lady, Camelot, The Music Man and more. The Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus will perform nightly and a Children’s Festival Choir of area 4th-6th graders will perform on Friday evening. A cake reception will follow both performances. Tickets to Sing On! are $25 for adults, $20 for groups of 10 or more, $10 for students and children 12 and under may receive a free ticket if arranged through the box office. Tickets are available through the box office at 309-693-6725, via the website at www.peoriacivicchorale.org and at the door at each performance.

Ongoing Programs & Features

Bicentennial History Exhibit – On display July 13th – August 24th, 2025 at Five Points Washington

Bicentennial and historical images will be exhibited by the Washington Historical Society on the Community Gallery Wall at Five Points Washington. The carefully curated photographs selected for this exhibit give a unique insight into events, people, and places from Washington’s past. The selected photographs span the last 150 years of Washington’s history and feature community events and everyday life in Washington.


StoryWalk in Washington Park

Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
