I was asked by a good friend and previous client to present on a photography topic at Lakeview Library in Peoria for those who were interested. This presentation goes along with the library's annual photography contest, which I will be judging later that month. Everyone is welcome to join us and sit in on a great evening of images and discussion.
About the Presentation
Travel photographer David duChemin put it best when he said, "Gear is Good. Vision is Better." No matter what stage of photography you are in, a great photographer will always review past work and spot the strengths and weaknesses of an image. It is a vital lesson for any artist to know: what makes an image great? What is it about a particular subject or composition that draws the viewer in? Whether it's perspective, focus, story, or composition, I will talk through a collection of images, both his own and from other photographers, and discuss both the "good" and the "bad" of each one to help students have a better grasp of how to dig deeper and create more engaging photos.
