Come join us for a night of fun and excitement at the Mother & Son Sneaker Ball – Light Up the Night! Get ready to show off your coolest sneakers and dance the night away with your favorite little guy. This event is open to all mother figures: mothers, step-mothers, grandmothers, aunts, family friends or any other mother figure that has a little guy they love spending time with. This in-person event will be held at the Five Points Washington Gymnasium, where the energy will be off the charts!
We have a number of activities and entertainment to keep you both having fun all night long. Midwest Entertainment DJ will be keeping the dance floor packed! Then you will have to head over to the local caricature artist in order to save the memories of the night. What is a party without some delicious food and drinks? We will have food, a candy bar and a cash wine/seltzer bar for all moms. If you need a break from dancing, then head over to our game room to play some games as you catch your breath. Don’t take too long of a break though, you won’t want to miss the mother & son dance off! This night will be one to remember for years to come.
Everyone that registers will receive glow in the dark shoelaces, glow sticks and all moms will receive a rose.

Bicentennial History Exhibit – On display July 13th – August 24th, 2025 at Five Points Washington
Bicentennial and historical images will be exhibited by the Washington Historical Society on the Community Gallery Wall at Five Points Washington. The carefully curated photographs selected for this exhibit give a unique insight into events, people, and places from Washington’s past. The selected photographs span the last 150 years of Washington’s history and feature community events and everyday life in Washington.
StoryWalk in Washington Park
Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
