Join the Peoria Area Civic Chorale at Five Points Washington for an evening of music sure to spread smiles, joy, laughter, and happiness! The audience is going to laugh and there will be beautiful moments in songs throughout the entire evening! Hear MGM musical favorites like "The Trolley Song," "Singing in the Rain," and "Make 'em Laugh," as well as romantic classics like "The Shadow of Your Smile" and "The Way You Look Tonight." Other selections include Billy Joel’s “The Longest Time,” “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” from Spamalot, and the gospel song “I Sing Because I’m Happy.” Our guest artists are Chrys Wilson and Jessica Gebbink-Wilson who perform together throughout Central Illinois as the band Projekts. The Wilsons will join the chorale for Israel Kamakawiwo?ole's version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" for which Jessica will play the ukulele and they will also perform songs by Adele and John Legend.. There will be a cake reception sponsored by Scherer Lincoln and Volvo following Friday night’s performance. Tickets are $20 for adults, $8 for students and $18 for groups of 10 or more. Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
