Using Instagram for Small Business Are you one of the 200 million business accounts that people visit every day on Instagram? Or should you be? This workshop will help you decide if Instagram is a good platform for your business, and if so, how to effectively use it for marketing your business. Learn Instagram fundamentals to help grow your Instagram presence. In this workshop you will learn: *How to optimize your business profile *Creating brand awareness *How to create content that resonates with your audience *Should you use Stories, Reels, Lives and Hashtags Who should attend: Business owners who want to learn and use Instagram Speaker: Theresa Bloom is a Social Media Adviser at the Turner Center, as well as the Social Media Manager for the Foster College of Business and Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology at Bradley University. Theresa has been with the Turner Center for 5 years. She enjoys working with small business owners and those wanting to start their own business. She has a passion for helping business owners get their businesses discovered through the use of social media, and is excited to share her knowledge and expertise with her clients. Prior to coming to Bradley, she had a career in the medical field, as well as past experience in the insurance industry. Theresa is a Peoria native, having attended Peoria Notre Dame high school, as well as being a graduate of Bradley University.

Bicentennial History Exhibit – On display July 13th – August 24th, 2025 at Five Points Washington

Bicentennial and historical images will be exhibited by the Washington Historical Society on the Community Gallery Wall at Five Points Washington. The carefully curated photographs selected for this exhibit give a unique insight into events, people, and places from Washington’s past. The selected photographs span the last 150 years of Washington’s history and feature community events and everyday life in Washington.


StoryWalk in Washington Park

Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
