Bels Second Change Race

  • Share:
Name: Bels Second Change Race
Date: April 6, 2013
Time: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM CDT
Event Description:
At just 10 days old, Isabel, youngest daughter of Aaron and Crystal Montgomery of Washington, had her first open heart surgery. Two more would follow at 10 months and 3 years of age. After slowly declining over several months, in July 2012 Bels transferred from OSF to Robert and Ann Lurie Children's Hospital in Chicago to await a heart transplant. August 17th Bels received her life-saving donor heart. With the cost of a transplant often exceeding $500,000, many transplant families are unable to shoulder the financial burden of such a procedure. Race proceeds will benefit COTA in honor of Isabel Montgomery to assist with transplant-related expenses.
