Event Description:
The Peoria Area Civic Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Joseph D. Henry, will close its 40th anniversary season with two performances of An American Rhapsody: Gershwin & Friends on Friday and Saturday, May 5 & 6 at 7:30 pm at Five Points Washington. The concert’s musical repertoire celebrates the Great American Songbook of the early 20th century and features music from Irving Berlin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Fats Waller and, of course, George Gershwin. Tickets for An American Rhapsody: Gershwin & Friends are $20 for adults, $8 for students and $18 for groups of 10 or more or for season tickets and are available online at www.peoriacivicchorale.org, by calling 309-693-6725 or at the door.

Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Love Monster by Rachel Bright.
