The Christmas season for many families in Central Illinois officially begins with the Peoria Area Civic Chorale’s annual An American Family Christmas this season at Five-Points Washington on December 14 & 15 at 7:30 p.m. & 16 at 3:00 p.m. Join us for beautiful arrangements of traditional carols such as See Amid the Winter’s Snow, The First Noel, and The Holly and the Ivy. Reminisce of Christmas seasons past as we weave a spell of nostalgia with such secular songs as Winter Wonderland, Let it Snow! I’ll be Home for Christmas, Sleigh Ride, Here Comes Santa Claus and many more. Hear special guests Penelope Shumate, the Peoria Area Civic Chorale Youth Chorus and Young Artist Competition winners as well as two children's festival choirs on Friday night.
Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is There Was a Cold Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow by Lucille Colandro..
