Experience the relaxing pleasure of paddling a canoe or kayak on beautiful Lake Evergreen. Abundant wildlife and beautiful foliage make this lake a delightful place to spend a day. Experienced canoe and kayaking coaches will provide a safe experience for novice participants. We will leave the Washington Park District building at 9am (transportation provided), paddle at Evergreen for 1.5 to 2 hours, break for a delicious picnic lunch provided by Lindy's Downtown Market and finish with a "soft" hike for those who want to stretch their legs before returning to Washington. Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Señorita Mariposa By Ben Gundersheimer and will be displayed through Tuesday, September 30th.
