Event Description:
Experience the relaxing pleasure of paddling a canoe or kayak on beautiful Lake Evergreen. Abundant wildlife and beautiful foliage make this lake a delightful place to spend a day. Experienced canoe and kayaking coaches will provide a safe experience for novice participants. We will leave the Washington Park District building at 9am (transportation provided), paddle at Evergreen for 1.5 to 2 hours, break for a delicious picnic lunch provided by Lindy's Downtown Market and finish with a "soft" hike for those who want to stretch their legs before returning to Washington. Don't miss this opportunity to try something new! Learn a new skill, make new friends! Ages 50 and up.

Animal Rescue Giving Tree at Washington District Library – Sunnyland Branch

Help the Tazewell County Animal Shelter stock their shelves and provide newly adopted animals with the essentials they need. Beginning February 1, 2026, select ornaments with items to donate, purchase the items, and bring them back to the Sunnyland Branch by March 10th.
