**Join us at the Live @ Five Points Event Center every 2nd Sunday of the month for a night of incredible, local jazz music.** This month we welcome the Washington Community High School Jazz Band and the Knox College Cherry Street Combo for a full afternoon of jazz. Washington Community High School's jazz band is a co-curricular ensemble under the direction of Jim Tallman. The Cherry St. combo is the premier jazz combo at Knox college, and has hosted jazz every Thursday night in Galesburg for nearly 30 years! Directed by Andy Crawford, The Cherry Street Combo is by audition only. The combo performs professionally at various community and college events and the ensemble also tours yearly. Most recently, the combo released a professionally recorded CD, Patchwork. We will have a fully stocked bar, complete with drink specials and specialty cocktails from 2:30-3:00 pm and again following the high school's performance until 6:00 pm. Bottled water and soft drinks will be available throughout. 2:30 pm - Doors Open 3:00 pm - Washington Community High School's Jazz Band Performance 4:00 pm - Main Stage Performance with Knox College Cherry Street Combo Tickets are $5 each and provide access to both performances. Tickets will also be available at the door!
Take a walk through Washington Park and enjoy a story as you stroll! Beginning at the parking lot located on the Lincoln Grade School side of Washington Park, follow the sidewalk to read a story. This two-month session’s book is Love Monster by Rachel Bright.
