Event Description:
This gala concert showcases the dancing of Lauren Pschirrer and Mengjun Chen – both Artists in the Smuin Contemporary Ballet of San Francisco. They will be backed by the HFO’s full orchestra, in a program ranging from popular to romantic to contemporary. Renowned composer Jeff Beal (“House of Cards”) collaborates with famed choreographer Helen Pickett in a World Premiere Preview duet from “Rootabaga Stories” – a larger work based on the fanciful tales of Carl Sandburg, in the process of creation for the HFO.

Animal Rescue Giving Tree at Washington District Library – Sunnyland Branch

Help the Tazewell County Animal Shelter stock their shelves and provide newly adopted animals with the essentials they need. Beginning February 1, 2026, select ornaments with items to donate, purchase the items, and bring them back to the Sunnyland Branch by March 10th.
